The ICON development board is the ideal system for evaluating the G2 Microsystems Epsilon Module Family with your microcontroller-based design. The board comes complete with a G2M5477 module, a superset of all modules in the Epsilon Family, and is pre-loaded with the Icon application firmware.
The Icon Platform Software enables a G2 module to become a WiFi networking interface for mains and battery-powered devices. The platform is especially suited for use with 8- or 16-bit host microprocessors that do not have the ability to connect to other WiFi chips, or for use with 32-bit host processors that do not have enough additional processing power to run a network stack. The host API is implemented as a socket networking interface and is also simple to use.
The board includes the following interfaces for easily connecting to a host processor:
• UART: RS-232 and 3.3V
• SPI-Master
• SDIO/SPI-Slave
The G2M5477 module is a complete WiFi and networking solution and includes an RF power amplifier and antenna.
