Roving Networks Key Professionals
Michael Conrad, CEO
Prior to starting Roving Networks, Michael was founder and CEO of Compact Devices Inc., where he introduced a new class of network information appliances such as TopSpin CD-ROM server, Twister Webserver, Cisco MicroWebserver, Meridian Data SnapServer, and 3Com OfficeConnect mail server, SnapServer filer from Quantum and the Intel InBusiness e-mail server.
He was also founder and CEO of MiLAN Technology Corporation, where he created the first Ethernet MicroTransceiver. He then grew the company into a producer of over 20 coax, twisted pair, and fiber optic converter and hub physical layer connectivity products, and the first multi-protocol network print server, FastPort, supporting UNIX/TCP/IP, Novell, Microsoft, and Apple networks. MiLan's major customers were Compaq, Tektronix, Xerox, and Kodak. The company was sold to Digi International in 1994.
Michael has also worked at Tandem, Eon Systems and HP, where he obtained a U.S. patent entitled " Broadcast Station Locator for a local area network" He has a BSEE from Iowa State University.
Anthony Le, VP of Operations
Anthony has over 20 years of operations experience in Silicon Valley, including manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering support, with an emphasis on regulatory and compliance programs. Before joining MiLAN, Anthony worked as a project engineer at Triad Systems. As a product manager for MiLAN, he helped grow and sell the company, then stayed on to run Engineering Services for the MiLAN and Procera divisions of Digi International.
Anthony received his BS in Engineering from Purdue University, where he also played two years as forward for the Purdue soccer team.
Narayan Mohanram, Chief Technology Officer
Narayan is the co-founder of Roving Networks. Narayan is a veteran of networking software with over 25 years experience in the field. He was President of InternetShare, Inc. a networking software developer. The company developed products allowing multiple computers to share a single IP connection, targeted at the home DSL and Cable modem user market. The product is currently being successfully marketed on the web as well as via a number of OEM channels including 3Com and Xircom
He was also a founder of InternetWare, a software developer and marketer of a Novell to Internet gateway product for Microsoft NT platforms. InternetWare was acquired by Quarterdeck Office Systems.
Narayan received a BS-Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MS-Computer Science from University of Texas.
Mitchell Dale
Prior to Roving Networks, Mitch Dale was director of product marketing for Calypto Design Systems where he ran all outbound and inbound marketing programs. Mitch has more than 17 years of marketing and engineering experience in functional verification and SOC design tool. He was previously director of verification solutions and was responsible for development of emulation and acceleration products at Mentor Graphics. He holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
